I take
a fresh approach
to all assignments which adapts to the situation, wherever possible using natural
light, not afraid to take risks, capturing the unusual angle.
I concentrate on the subject, not the
equipment, looking for character
in business portraits, natural informality in
people photography, adding a dynamic twist to commercial images. Depending on the job requirements, I often work with an associate who is invaluable in helping me achieve these ends.
My specialty is people - see the portfolios linked to the left to examine the range of my work. When I work with my associate, particularly on reportage type assignments, we may shoot in tandem; several of the images on this site are the product of her work.
I have an independent approach, avoiding wherever possible the
static camera and lighting positions of the sterile studio environment,
in favour of a more dynamic style using natural light and/or portable
lighting equipment.
Very few of the images on this site were art directed or styled by
other individuals. They are the result of a direct collaboration
between me, the individual commissioning the
shoot and/or the model involved.
Equipment? I normally use standard or full frame digital SLR's, whichever is most suitable to the subject matter and end use. I am also equipped to shoot on 35mm and 120 film. I have also invested in studio equipment with a power pack if needed should the desired images require studio lighting in some remote location.
My photos have benefited organisations
such as Young Enterprise, Yale Business School, Cityspace Ltd,
HSBC, Pinnacle psg, EDF, de
Agostini, Dairy Crest and Pier 32 Clothing. They have received
editorial coverage, including filling the front page, in numerous
UK and
overseas national newspapers and magazines.
